Landmark on Gloucester Road

Following the launch of the bank’s new segmentation into private banking, they welcome is first opening of its new wealth management centre at the ground floor. Upon it being street-level facing into its own eponymous tower at Everbright Centre, the space poses an untapped opportunity to build brand awareness and capture mindshare from competitors. This is a ground-breaking step for the bank to exhibit its image in such a prominent landscape, an idea to capsulate a marketplace for its financial services (光大超市概念). A purposeful concept is to promote the group having other business such as securities, investment, cross-border banking etc.

The double-story height premise occupies 8,000 sqft. and has an internal staircase connecting to the mezzanine above. Its landmark location sits on Gloucester Road and the large shopfront can be seen from various vantage points. The facade design houses a back-lit, enlarged logo mural that spans the two-storey glass front. In both daylight and evening, the space is highly visible across the busy traffic on the main road, but also to the foot traffic from the connecting bridge to the Immigration Towers.

Its entrance area on the ground level is composed of meeting pods and client suites. Along the central spine, there’s a full-service circular bar that enjoys a multi-purpose zone with a digital experience area. With this, it provides flexible space for hosting various activities like marketing event, press announcement or workshops.

The design team exploited the tall atrium and entrance hall by installing a 2 x 14 glass panel digital signage that stands 6.8 metres tall. This illuminated totem is animated and motorized to attract audience at strategic viewpoints and pedestrians to pause for attention at street level.

Designers not only give full consideration from the perspectives of vision and space, but also pay great attention to the sensual stimulation which is memorable upon arrival and an unique atmosphere tailored with personalised engagements. All the small objects, artworks, fragrance scent and feature greenery in the space are all arranged to make customers feel hospitable and a relaxed experience in this flagship wealth management centre.
