We organised the floor plate in zones segueing from well-lit to somnolent, and from active to quiet. Our lighting design played a key role in helping keep pilots alert in some rooms whilst affording sleep in others. The highly compact floor plan layout included 6 private, sound-proofed, tailored bunk rooms with washrooms and showers, a pantry, a briefing and flight-prep room, mailboxes, a casual conversation area, and a rest area overlooking the tarmac. The lounge garnered unanimously positive feedback from the pilots.
