The brief was shaped by our client’s superb collection of artwork, both vintage and contemporary, a passion for all things ‘travel’ – cars, aircraft and places, and a curiosity that spanned the abstract to the concrete. We were commissioned to design a private residence at Le Bleu Deux to reflect these interests.

The principal concept, developed very much in concert with the client, was a series of layered spaces from luminous white in the living and dining spaces to seductive metallic charcoals in the Master Bedroom and open ensuite Bathroom. Mediating between the two extremes was a galley-form semi-open Study creating picture-framed views of the airport lights. With the owner’s love of aircraft, a curated sampling of his 130+ model aircraft collection populates the home, juxtaposed against the real airport beyond — a celebration of the marvel of flight.
