Fullerton Health Screening Centre | Singapore

A Holistic Approach to Patient Care

Fullerton Health | Health Screening Centre at Novena, Singapore

In light of a post-pandemic refocus on health & well-being in our communities, One Space’s design expertise in the preventative healthcare and medical sector has come to the fore this past year. Our Singapore design team was engaged – alongside Scott Brownrigg and main contractor 8build – by Fullerton Health Group to design and deliver a new-concept, market-making health screening centre located at the heart of the Novena Healthcare Hub, Singapore. Health Minister Ong Ye Kung presided over the Opening Ceremony on 30th May 2023.

This flagship facility occupying an entire 12,000 sq ft floor includes both a state-of-the-art Executive Health Screening Centre and a first-to-market VIP zone that boasts fully-private suites providing the utmost comfort and confidentiality. The centre’s services also include diagnostic radiology, ECG, audiometry & eye health, with each work-stream demanding a tailored customer journey.

Our design & planning followed a holistic approach, affording an unparalleled level of privacy, hospitality and dignity to every one of Fullerton’s patients, across the full spectrum of ages and needs. Fullerton Health Managing Director Dr Walter Lim said, “The centre was developed with customer experience as priority, with a soothing ambiance and calming environment. Fullerton Health’s unique Health Screening Pods and suites were conceptualised to provide a central point for the health screening experience, bringing the tests to the patient, thus reducing the need for patient movement between stations.”

The customer journey is paramount: Every touchpoint was designed with the patient’s needs and comfort as the first priority, whilst taking full account of the operational needs of the doctors, nurses, radiologists and care officers. Diagnostic radiology rooms demanded our specific understanding of their operational safety and care standards. Ergonomics, hygiene, safety, lighting and acoustics were key drivers behind the hospitality-grade look-&-feel that is deceivingly pragmatic and hard-wearing.
