KPMG | Learning & Development Centre

Spark of a Brand New Learning & Development Centre

This ‘Big Four’ management consultancy firm engaged One Space to not only design a new ‘Workplace of the Future’ across two locations, but also to work with the firm’s Head of Learning & Development to design a state-of-the-art Learning Centre within their Wong Chuk Hang premises.

The Brief required this adaptable facility to seat 300 trainees simultaneously across six combinable Training Rooms, occupying one entire deep floorplate.

Our interdisciplinary design approach aimed to establish a more seamless and intuitive connection between online and in-person learning, using digital and analogue tools to support both formal and informal learning styles.

Working closely with the L&D team, we identified the varying class sizes, durations and compositions to determine the range of potential set-ups for each session. Modular furniture and lighting allow the users to shape their environment fluidly and intuitively, whilst latest-technology audiovisual systems collaborated with our sister company Principle One, encourage interactive participation.

A 67 s.m. Ideation Lab fitted with an interactive touchscreen wall encourages lively, ‘on-your-feet’ creativity, as KPMG innovates business transformation solutions for their clients. Breakout and Pre-Function spaces are at the heart of the floorplate, where we’ve compensated for the absence of daylight penetration with human-centric lighting, colours and furnishings.
