HSBC | Executive Floors

Optimal Balance Between Design And Modularity

One Space were commissioned from 2007 to 2015 to re-design all of HSBC’s Executive Floors, for the first time since this iconic building was completed.

Our unabashedly modern re-designs bring the Global, Regional & Hong Kong Executives closer together and facilitates interaction across five floors of this highly idiosyncratic headquarters building. A key focus of our efforts was achieving an optimal balance between the creation of significant executive space that did justice to the HSBC brand within this iconic building, and the need for modularity, flexibility, future-proofing and cost control.

At the Regional Executive Floor, new VIP areas and galleries were opened to stunning views of Victoria Harbour and cityscape for the first time in 25 years. A self-illuminating ‘veil’ within the glazed office frontages provides semi-obscurity that adjusts with daylight.

The Hong Kong Executive Floor, views into the famous atrium are reestablished, repairing a lost connection that the original 1985 design had championed.

At the majestic double-height floor, our Scope extended to the highly sensitive architectural conservation of the Bank’s heritage Boardroom. Technology is fully integrated into every aspect of the interiors, from customised video installations to high-definition video conferencing.
