The new Private Banking suites at The Landmark, created a wholly new customer experience for Bank of Communication’s esteemed high-net-worth clients. The design brief was to provide an exclusive private banking experience appointed by exquisitely crafted rooms and reception spaces that assure the highest levels of confidentiality and privilege.

The Reception area and Client Meeting Rooms were conceived as a contemporary, yet refined, place of refuge from the daily pressures of city life. In response to the Bank’s development strategy – “a first class listed comprehensive banking group focusing on international expansion and specializing in wealth management” – the design developed an ‘East meets West’ theme that ties together a diverse range of room settings and styles. The interior design of these spaces are characterized by lustrous materials, carefully balanced tones & colors, and meticulous detailing.

The spacious arrivals area features a highly sculptural reception desk inspired by Bank’s rich heritage, in which the financing and development of China’s earliest railways sparked the foundation of the Bank. Each meeting room is designed with a sub-theme. Taken together, these decorative sub-themes – Hong Kong, Shanghai, Cosmopolitan and Universal – represent Private Banking’s multi-cultural, broad geographic reach, and manifest the Bank’s commitment to ‘East meet West’.
