AXA is a global insurance and financial planning conglomerate, well-known for its philanthropic and cultural initiatives. One Space were engaged to design AXA’s new workplace and cross-territory collaboration centre for their Hong Kong businesses.
The client occupies nine full floors at the just-completed Vertical Square in Wong Chuk Hang, the rapidly developing satellite CBD in Hong Kong’s South Island District, generating a compelling opportunity to relocate the company’s cultural heart into this youthful, vibrant neighbourhood. Occupants from several previous AXA premises would relocate to this new workplace, so Change Management and a well-developed understanding of staff needs drove the design process.
One Space created a transformative workplace concept for AXA, promoting agile work and cross-departmental socialisation.
Open Workplace & Casual Meetings Zone: With no enclosed offices (even for the most senior executives), these floors reflect the forward-thinking vitality and innovation that defines AXA’s culture.
Formal Meetings & Recruitment Zone: Job candidates are hosted here, so it was important to communicate AXA’s differentiation as a ‘state-of-the-art’ employer that values well-being.
‘Chill Zone’: A multi-purpose, laid-back social hub occupying a whole floor at the centre of the stack to encourage wide usage. This floor is designed for AXA staff to ‘let their hair down’, and is sub-zoned for a range of activities, from raucous brainstorming, dining and fun to quiet reading, decompressing or ad hoc discussions.
One Space has further been engaged by AXA to extend these groundbreaking models to their other premises
